Autodesk User Group United Kingdom
beoordeling site:
aardige links, een book club, chat forum, lisp en wishlist, verder veel (gezellig) geouwehoer
eigen omschrijving:
The Autodesk User Group UK is an independent network of users of Autodesk products. The network consists of Autodesk User Groups that are formed in mutually exclusive geographic areas by users of their own volition and with the encouragement and advice of the AUG UK and Autodesk. The AUG-UK has evolved from a somewhat rigid, committee-led organisation into the present looser federation of local user groups and specialist interest groups working closely with Autodesk. Autodesk UK has responded most positively to these changes, and is giving the AUG-UK its full support. Tim Taylor, managing director of Autodesk UK, says "I am an enthusiastic supporter of User Groups and fully endorse the changes that are taking place in AUG-UK. I regard the User Group as a sounding board for Autodesk UK Ltd, and would like it to be independent, practical and constructive. I look forward to working with AUG-UK in the future". Every user of Autodesk products in the UK is automatically a member of the Autodesk User Group in the United Kingdom. Local groups are formed simply by Autodesk users getting together and deciding to hold meetings at which invited speakers can give presentations and demonstrations of Autodesk products, third party applications, hardware and examples of how Cad technology has been put to use. Such meetings are often supported by Autodesk staff who deliver the presentations and demonstrations. And, it's a great opportunity to give Autodesk some feedback. Organisers of local groups attend quarterly meetings of the AUG-UK National Committee which is always attended by senior Autodesk representatives. The National Committee no longer has a formal Chairman or Vice Chairman. The chairmanship of the National Committee rotates between the organisers of local groups.

maar een pagina. alle anderen (zoals de upcoming events) geven een http error, lijkt dus niet erg actief meer, misschien hebben ze het in Alberta, Canada te druk met andere zaken
eigen omschrijving:
CAUG Mission Statement
To acquire knowledge and experience from Autodesk software users throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.
Reason Behind User Group
The user group, which is primarily Internet based, allows you to post questions (by E-mail) pertaining to a specific Autodesk product that you are having difficulties with. Other group members that have confronted these simliar problems or situations in the past, can provide hints, tips or possible solutions totally through the Internet via E-mail.
What is it?
Calgary AutoCAD User Group (CAUG) is a non-profit organization, comprised of GIS professionals in Alberta that use Autodesk GIS software. The main purpose of the user group is to share and acquire knowledge of Autodesk GIS software from fellow peers in the everyday struggle of 'software cliches' and problems.
It's also an excellent means of networking with other CAD/GIS professionals in Calgary.
How Can It Help You?
Suppose you have a specific software question or problem. You've tried everything humanly possible, but you still cannot resolve the problem.
The CAUG website has a question and answer posting that allows you to post questions on the Internet. You simply enter your E-mail address and your question and submit it! This sends your question to the question posting bulletin board system. Any user that has confronted this problem or situation can simply click your E-mail address and send you any hints or possible solutions to your problems.
Will This Cost Anything?
Membership with CAUG is 100% free, no strings attached!
The reason it's free is because it's voluntarily developed and maintained by us, the software users. Countless hours have already been logged, initiating the user group, developing the website and organizing the user group.
Important User Group Features
The primary feature (the backbone of the user group) is a question posting bulletin board system that allows users to post questions or problems that they may be having with a specific piece of Autodesk software.
Other features include group member's names, their company name, their company URL (if available) and also their E-mail addresses.
A membership to CAUG will also include important information about upcoming events, newsletters anf excellent networking potential.
Joining Requirements
Since the user group is essentially Internet based, you need Internet access and access to an E-mail account and a passion for you work.
How do I join?
To become a member of CAUG, simply contact either Ed Gyulai ed_gyulai@pcp.ca or Kevin Boyer kboyer@coyotegrafx.com .
Any inquiries about the CAUG website can be forwarded to Jason Wiles jwiles@coyotegrafx.com
Please feel free to contact any of us if you have any questions, comments or ways of improving the user group. Any viable input is appeciated.
We hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Kevin Boyer
European Association of Autodesk User Groups
beoordeling site:
eigen omschrijving:
WHAT IS EAAUG?
EAAUG is basically the organization that, since 1990, represents the union of European user groups to further their intertests . In these pages you will find all the information you need about what we are, and what we do, to have a common voice and a meeting point for all the Autodesk user groups in Europe.
President's Report
Victor Gaspar's report to the meeting is attached to these minutes.
Basically nothing much has been going on in the past months following the previous meeting in which the Chairman of the UK user group tried to gain total control of the association. When the association voted against this, the UK AUG, decided to have nothing to do with the association until a few weeks ago during a meeting in London between Jay Patankar and Victor Gaspar the same move was attempted again. This time, following the same answer on behalf the association, the Chairman's report of the AUG UK contained libellous statements against the EAAUG and it's board, together with a copy the proposed letter they wanted Victor Gaspar to sign. In the mentioned report this letter is wrongly presented as agreed, and sent to AUGI. EAAUG's only aim to help Autodesk User Groups in Europe through communication and meetings cannot understand this attitude that will benefit no one.
EAAUG Membership
The following points were agreed.
It was proposed that membership to EAAUG would be at no cost to any European country wishing to be represented through the association, providing this country is represented by one vote in our meetings and it adheres to the bylaws of the association. The proposal was accepted.
It was also accepted that EAAUG meetings could also be celebrated through Internet Resources in order to reduce EAAUG expenses, although this should be avoided whenever possible due to the fact that personal meetings always offer a lot more when contributing with new ideas, etc.
Financial Report
The treasurer's report, dated 28th February 1998 was submitted to the meeting. This report had been previously sent to both the President and Vice President by E-mail.
It was also proposed and accepted that whenever EAAUG is short of financial resources it's members will decide upon the way of obtaining funds either by getting them from external resources, by contributing themselves, or by a combination of both.
In the past months, both the President Vice-President of the association decided not to pay for other concepts than expenses, to the secretary and treasurer because we have to use the economic resources available very carefully to promote the aims of the organisation. This will probably be very noticeable in the next months in our balance sheet. To free our current secretary of some of his duties we appointed a secretary that will assist the President if he so requires. Currently this post is in Alberto Belmonte from Spain.
WWW Page.
It was also agreed that the President has to undertake the project of creating a web page for the EAAUG in such a way that whatever the association does, is readily available to it's members and the rest of the Autodesk world. The president will have to ask for an estimate for this project which will include everything, from hosting and registering the domain name to actually creating the html code.
CD-ROM
After the web page is set-up and finished it is approved to create a CD-ROM for distribution amongst EAAUG members and other European countries. This item will contain the compilation of all the most interesting material that EAAUG has gathered in the past years for the use of members of every national user group in Europe.
Co-operation link with AUGI
EAAUG will establish a co-operation link with AUGI, and it will support AUGI's goals in such a way that the combined efforts of all user groups in Europe and the rest of the world will benefit any Autodesk user who is a member of any European group as well as AUGI members.
New Members
It was agreed that one of the most important aim's right now is to enrol new members into the association to support it's communication role within European groups. Due to the many problems we have had up to now, membership has been dropping out in the past years. Now we have to recuperate the membership lost due to causes beyond our control.
Next meetings
The date and place of the next meeting will be decided through E-mail, after the projects decided on this meeting are under way.

beoordeling site:
goede site met veel links, lisps en tutorials.
eigen omschrijving:
Welcome neighbor. This site is dedicated to the AutoCAD User, in particular the User who needs a resource guide of where to go on the WWW for AutoCAD answers, instruction and meeting like people from around the globe. I hope you find as much usefulness here as I do enjoyment as the host of this little slice of the Internet pie. Nothing fancy, just pick on an area that interests you and dig in. Make sure to stop by often to check out what's new.
Magazines
All the connections for online AutoCAD magazines I've been able to find. The search continues and when I uncover more I'll be sure to have them posted.
News Letters
Newsletters from many sources, some of them (like those offered by User Groups) a little hard to find. I do the work so you don't have to. Good stuff here. (Also the home site of First Aid).
News Groups
If you have, are in, or know of another NewsGroup or Discussion area that I haven't got posted, you may be eligible for a trip to Bermuda. The only requirements are to send me some mail with the new URL and you must be 140 years of age or older. Or just forget the trip; send me a link cause you like all us Acad people.
User Groups
Excellent resource for User Groups, I have them rated for usefulness. This is an area that is constantly reforming; they come - they go. If you would like on here or know of a User Group I haven't got listed, drop a note in my mail slot. Be patient while this loads, I found a lot of them. Tutorials
AutoCAD and AutoLisp Internet sites for training and instruction. If you have a need to learn you might find what the doctor ordered right here.
AutoLisp
My motto is 'Freeware Reigns', so of course I offer the best of what I can find. Don't get me wrong, I'm only doing the offering. The real heros are the people and organizations that write the code. You freeware Acad developers are the best, thanks a ton for your work. May you live long and prosper.
Acad Links
Links, links, links. The Internet has a ton of 'em. I have rifled and raffled my way through many. Came up with the cream of the crop. If you want links and you can't find 'em here then you just won't be able to find them.
Universities
For comprehensive AutoCAD training these sites will provide it for a fee. Some are full fledged colleges, some want to sell you a CD to use at home, some are offered online at a very reasonable cost.
Standards
Hey, I thought I could make life easier by researching Standards. Guess what? Not! But I can offer you the fruits of my labor. Dig in and learn to enjoy the real side of CAD in a world of economic prosperity and stock market madness. If you can figure this one out then you've got to be doing great in the stock market!
Last of all, you will notice a GoTo search engine on this page and others. If you need more information than you can find here, I suggest search options that may supply you with what you're looking for. Go ahead and try them or put together you're own phrases. Experiment here if you'ld like... maybe try 'paperspace' or 'visretain or 'dimstyle'. Try different combinations and see what happens. Most of all... Happy Hunting and be sure to send me some mail if you have any suggestions or questions or links. Later gator...
